Content Pillar Configuration

Admin

Content pillars are the top-level categories that organize all educational content on PATHS. They provide structure for both the admin panel and the learner-facing frontend.

Default Pillars

PATHS ships with six default pillars, created automatically by the foundation seed:

PillarFocus Area
NutritionDiet, supplementation, metabolic health
ExercisePhysical activity, training, movement science
SleepSleep quality, circadian rhythms, recovery
Mental HealthStress management, cognitive wellness, mindfulness
Preventive MedicineScreening, diagnostics, early intervention
Longevity ScienceAging research, biomarkers, emerging therapies

To add a new pillar, click Create New and fill in the name, slug, and description.

Pillar consistency

Keep the number of pillars manageable. Too many dilute the organizational structure. The six defaults cover the core areas of longevity science comprehensively.

Assigning Content to Pillars

Select a pillar when creating or editing articles and courses.

Every article and course has a content pillar field. When creating or editing content, select the appropriate pillar from the dropdown. This determines:

  • Where the content appears in pillar-based navigation on the frontend.
  • How content is grouped in search results and recommendations.
  • Which pillar icon and color scheme are applied to the content card.

Frontend Display

On the public-facing site, pillars appear as filterable categories. Learners can browse all content within a specific pillar or view a mixed feed across all pillars. The pillar assignment also feeds into the AI recommendation engine, helping suggest related content to learners.

RAG and pillars

The RAG pipeline uses pillar metadata as part of its retrieval context. Well-categorized content produces better AI tutor responses and more relevant recommendations.
