Submitting for Review

Contributor

Once your article is complete and you are satisfied with the content, formatting, and media, it is time to submit it for editorial review. This guide covers the submission process and what to expect afterward.

Before You Submit

Run through this checklist to make sure your article is ready:

Re-read the entire article for spelling, grammar, and factual accuracy.
Confirm the title is clear and descriptive.
Verify the content pillar and access level are set correctly.
Check that your featured image is uploaded and appropriate.
Review all embedded blocks (videos, quizzes, callouts) to ensure they display correctly.
Make sure headings follow a logical hierarchy (H2 for sections, H3 for subsections).

Self-review saves time

Taking ten minutes to review your own work before submitting reduces editorial back-and-forth and gets your article published faster.

How to Submit

Open your draft article in the admin panel.
Locate the Status field in the article sidebar (right panel).
Change the status from Draft to In Review.
Click Save to confirm the status change.

Your article is now in the editorial queue. An editor will be notified and will review your submission.

Status change is final

Once you change the status to "In Review," you should not continue editing the article unless an editor sends it back to you with feedback. Making changes while an article is under review can cause confusion.

What Happens Next

After you submit, the editorial process follows these stages:

  1. Editor reviews your article — an editor reads through your content, checking for accuracy, clarity, formatting, and adherence to platform guidelines.
  2. Approval or revision request — the editor either approves the article (moving it to "Approved" status) or sends it back to "Draft" status with feedback.
  3. If revisions are requested, you will see the article return to Draft status. Check for editorial comments or notes explaining what needs to change.
  4. After approval, a publisher makes the article live. You do not need to take any further action.

Responding to Editorial Feedback

If your article is sent back for revisions:

Open the article from your Articles list — it will be back in Draft status.
Review the editorial feedback carefully. Notes may appear in the article's comment field or as annotations.
Make the requested changes. Address every piece of feedback, not just some of it.
Once all revisions are complete, change the status back to In Review and save.

Revision requests are normal and not a reflection of poor work. Even experienced writers benefit from editorial feedback. The goal is to publish the best possible content for learners.

Tracking Your Submissions

You can monitor the status of all your articles from the Articles list view. Use the status filter to see which articles are in Draft, In Review, or have been Approved. See Managing Your Drafts for more on organizing your articles.
