Navigating Personal and Organization Content
Organization UserIf you have both a personal PATHS subscription and an organization membership, you have access to content from both sources. PATHS combines these automatically so you always see the broadest possible set of content.
How Access Union Works
PATHS uses a "highest wins" policy to determine your content access. The platform evaluates two access levels:
- Your personal subscription tier — based on your individual plan (Free, Regular, Premium, or Enterprise)
- Your organization's access level — set by your admin for the entire team
Whichever is higher becomes your effective access level. You see the superset of both — nothing is hidden because it came from one source rather than the other.
Example
If your personal plan is Regular and your organization has Premium access, your effective level is Premium. You can access all Free, Regular, and Premium content. If you later upgrade your personal plan to Enterprise, your effective level becomes Enterprise.
What This Means in Practice
- No manual switching required — you do not need to toggle between "personal mode" and "org mode." All accessible content appears in one unified view.
- Course enrollment is unified — whether a course is available through your personal tier or your org access, the enrollment and progress tracking work the same way.
- Search includes everything — when you search for content, results include items from both your personal and organization access levels.

You do not lose personal content by joining an organization. Your individual subscription remains active and your personal access is always preserved alongside your org access.
| Personal Tier | Org Access Level | Effective Access |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Regular | Regular |
| Regular | Premium | Premium |
| Premium | Regular | Premium |
| Enterprise | Any | Enterprise |
| Free | Enterprise | Enterprise |
If Your Access Changes
Your effective access level updates immediately when either side changes. If your org admin raises the level, you instantly see more content. If you upgrade your personal plan above the org level, the higher tier applies. If you leave the organization, your access reverts to your personal tier only.
Leaving an organization
If you are removed from your organization, you lose the org access level. Your personal subscription tier remains unchanged. Any course progress you made is preserved, but you may lose access to course content if it was above your personal tier.
